Some people believe that liquid creatine is better than powder creatine, such as Universal Nutrition creatine, or perhaps the other way around and that powder creatine is better than liquid. Actually, neither party is correct — whether you take creatine by liquid or powder, you will receive the same results.
With that being said, however, there are differences in the way you supplement with liquid creatine as opposed to its creatine powder counterpart. The most obvious difference with liquid creatine is the method of supplementation, in addition to its dosage size being different from a powder. Some people believe that the greatest difference in taking creatine powder as opposed to liquid (serum) form is that when you take a creatine serum, you have no need for a loading phase. A loading phase is also known as the initial stage, the period when you take a large dosage of creatine powder at once at the beginning of your workout. While a loading phase is necessary with creatine in a powder forum, liquid creatine requires no such phase because of it’s quick absorption directly into your blood stream.
In addition to serum eliminating the need for a creatine “loading phase,” the phase known as the maintenance period is also eliminated. This phase is eliminated for the same reason the loading phase is — serum has an extremely fast rate of absorption. With the phase being unnecessary with creatine serum, you are free to supplement with it whenever you workout or feel you need it the most.
Lastly, a final notable difference when taking creatine serum over powder form comes from the fact that you do not need to increase your fluid intake when you use creatine as a serum. This, of course, does not mean you need to stop hydrating yourself — you simply shouldn’t have to worry about it as much as you do when you take creatine powder.
